Esperichoo, in a dialect of Farsi from Kerman Province, Iran, means swallow.

Here, art, dance movement therapy, research, and travel come together through projects and workshops inspired by diverse cultures, journeys, and the stories carried by our moving bodies. Through art-based research and creative practice, Esperichoo explores and narrates the intersections of body, art, and culture. Most projects are collective and participatory, where participants are invited to join as co-researchers and collaborators in a shared creative exploration.

This vision is deeply rooted in my diverse background and experiences.

As a wanderer through life, I have rarely followed a straight road. My path has unfolded through different landscapes, disciplines, and ways of being, never quite fitting within a single definition. Eventually, I stopped trying to contain it and chose instead to accept its complexity and follow a path that embraces my past explorations while remaining open to endless discovery.

I was born and raised in Tehran, Iran. My first academic home was visual art, where I became captivated by the intricate world of carpet design. This fascination led me to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Carpet Design in the land of magnificent carpets, Iran. Studying and traveling through different regions of the country revealed how geography, history, culture, and collective memory are woven into patterns, colors, and forms.

Yet the stories behind these creations drew me beyond the objects themselves and toward the people, places, and traditions that gave them life. This curiosity led me into the world of travel, cultural exploration, and performance. Fascinated by rituals, dances, and living traditions, I pursued a master’s degree in Geography and Tourism and spent more than a decade working in the field while remaining deeply engaged with dance, performance art, and the revival of forgotten traditions.

Over time, one question continued to accompany me: How do our bodies carry culture, memory, and experience?

Following that question brought me to Germany and to a second master’s degree in Dance Movement Therapy in Heidelberg. There, my interests in art, movement, culture, and human experience found a common language.

Moving to Germany was journey that was never meant to be called migration_yet it still continues.

Perhaps that is why Esperichooway wanted to be born:
to keep moving, discovering, returning, and becoming.

You can find a less poetic description of my path in my CV, and a more tangible understanding of it through the projects themselves.
